Miren Polyclinic

Hematologist in Belgrade

Hematology deals with the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the blood and the blood-forming organs. Analysis of laboratory parameters, including a full blood count and coagulation tests, makes precise diagnosis and monitoring possible.

The conditions most commonly managed include anemia, coagulation disorders and thrombophilia. An individual approach improves quality of life and reduces symptoms.

  • Anemia that returns or does not improve with treatment
  • Low ferritin: constant fatigue, pallor, hair loss
  • Changes in the blood count: white cells, platelets, hemoglobin
  • A tendency to bruise and bleed
  • Enlarged lymph nodes
  • Thrombophilia and preparation for pregnancy on a gynecologist's referral

What the consultation is like

The consultation is carried out by Assist. Prof. Dr Danijela Leković, hematologist. At the consultation your blood count and other results are analyzed, and where necessary further analyses can be done straight away in our laboratory. You receive a clear diagnosis, a course of treatment and a follow-up plan.

Treating anemia: iron infusion

When iron tablets are not enough, the answer is a high dose iron infusion: iron stores are replenished quickly and effectively, under medical supervision throughout the procedure.
