IV drip at home

IV drip at home in Belgrade

  • Technician's visit 2.000 RSD to 5.000 RSD
  • As prescribed by a doctor
  • Home, hotel or work

An IV drip (infusion) at home means that you receive your prescribed therapy in your own bed or armchair, not in a waiting room. At the Miren Medic polyclinic, a medical technician gives infusions at your home address as prescribed by a doctor, and our team also goes out to hotels and workplaces.

It is a solution for recovery after an illness, for therapy that a doctor has prescribed over several days and for anyone for whom going to a medical facility is too much at that moment.

When an infusion is given at home

An infusion is prescribed by a doctor. At home, the same therapy is given, just without the trip to a medical facility.

Most common reasons

  • Recovery after an illness, when the weakness is severe
  • Dehydration, when a doctor judges that an infusion is needed
  • Therapy prescribed for several days in a row
  • Chronic therapy for patients with limited mobility

Before the visit, prepare

  • The doctor's report or instructions: name of the medicine, dose, route of administration and number of days
  • A list of the medicines the patient takes regularly and information about allergies
  • The medicines, if they are prescribed and you already have them. When arranging, tell us what is at home
  • A quiet place where the patient can sit or lie comfortably while the infusion runs

Infusions from the polyclinic's programme, at your address too

All infusion therapies at the Miren Medic polyclinic are given after a prior consultation with a doctor, so that the therapy is tailored to the patient. When needed, our team goes out to you: to your home, hotel or workplace.

Vitamin infusions, recovery infusions and the other therapies in the programme, with prices, are described on the infusion therapies page.

If therapy has not been prescribed yet, the first step is a doctor's examination, at the polyclinic or at your home address.

What an infusion at your home address looks like

  1. Arrangement

You tell us what the doctor prescribed and where you are: at home, in a hotel or at work.

  2. Arrival

A medical technician comes with the necessary equipment and checks the doctor's instructions.

  3. Administration

The infusion is prepared and given as prescribed by the doctor, into a vein in the arm.

  4. Schedule

When therapy runs over several days, we agree a schedule for the next visits.

During and after the infusion, tell us straight away

Reactions to an infusion are not common, but they should be reported as soon as they appear. A home visit is not a substitute for emergency services. With severe chest pain, difficulty breathing, loss of consciousness, signs of a stroke or heavy bleeding, call emergency services on 194 immediately.

  • Itching, rash or redness of the skinOn the body or on the face, during or after the infusion.
  • Difficulty breathing, tightness in the throatThis is an emergency: call 194.
  • Pain, swelling or redness at the needle siteEspecially if they get worse after the infusion.
  • Dizziness, palpitations, weaknessTell us straight away, do not wait for it to pass.
